Jamshedpur gears up for athletic, archery, football, and hockey events with over 565 players participating on World Tribal Day.
JAMSHEDPUR – In celebration of the 14th World Tribal Day, slated for 9th August, the district of East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur is gearing up to host a variety of sports competitions.
The events are jointly organized by the Director Sports and Youth Works Directorate, Jharkhand, Ranchi, and District Administration, East Singhbhoom, Jamshedpur.
District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri, has issued directives for conducting the sports competition in adherence to departmental guidelines.
Athletics, archery, football, and hockey matches form the crux of the competition.
The JRD Sports Complex, Tinplate Sports Stadium at Golmuri, and Tata Hockey Stadium at Indira Nagar will serve as venues for the athletics, archery, and hockey competitions.
Exclusively for tribal players of East Singhbhum district, over 565 have registered to participate in these four sporting events.
With all necessary preparations now completed, the district is poised for a successful sporting celebration.
The District Sports Officer has informed that registered participants are required to ensure their presence at the designated venues by 9:30 am.
After the conclusion of the events, a prize distribution ceremony will take place at the scheduled stadium.
Cash prizes of 21000, 15000, and 11,000 will be awarded to the winners, runners-up, and second runners-up of the football and hockey competitions, respectively.
Athletics competition winners will receive cash prizes of 5000, 3000, and 2000, respectively.
