JAMSHEDPUR — The Jamshedpur unit of the Aam Aadmi Party staged a large protest at the main roundabout in Sakchi on Thursday against alleged corruption, irregularities, and paper leak in the NEET medical entrance examination.
The protest was led by AAP leader Abhishek Kumar and held under the patronage of Raees Afridi.
A large number of students, parents, youth, and ordinary citizens participated in the demonstration.
Protesters carried placards and banners, registering their opposition against the central government and the concerned examination agencies.
Speakers addressing the gathering said that repeated paper leaks and irregularities in an examination as critical as NEET amounted to playing with the futures of millions of hardworking students across the country.
They said it was deeply unfortunate that students were denied a fair examination despite years of rigorous preparation.
The Jamshedpur unit of AAP demanded a fair and high-level inquiry into the entire matter.
The party also demanded stringent action against those found guilty.
In addition, it called for the implementation of a robust and transparent system to prevent such incidents in the future.
Meanwhile, AAP declared that the party would continue to fight for the rights of students and youth.
It said the struggle for ensuring transparency and accountability in the education system would go on.
The NEET paper leak controversy had rocked the country in 2024, drawing widespread criticism of the National Testing Agency.
The matter had reached the Supreme Court of India, which had ordered a probe and questioned the functioning of the NTA.
