RANCHI – The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yuva Morcha will stage a gherao of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission office on July 22, alleging widespread irregularities in the 14th JPSC preliminary examination.
BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Aditya Sahu made the announcement while raising questions against the Jharkhand government and the commission. He said lakhs of candidates’ futures had been jeopardized because of the alleged lapses.
Sahu further said the Congress-backed Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government had completely failed to protect the rights of the state’s youth. However, he did not specify the exact nature of the alleged irregularities in his statement.
The protest will be organized under the banner of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha starting at 10 a.m. on July 22. It will be held at Jaipal Singh Stadium, located near the Kachahri area in Ranchi.
Sahu appealed to all youths, competitive exam aspirants and conscious citizens across the state to join the movement in large numbers. “The rights of lakhs of aspirants cannot be compromised,” he said, while calling for accountability from the commission.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time the commission’s exam rules have come under public scrutiny. Aspirants had earlier staged a protest over exam postponement at the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission headquarters.
The party had also previously inaugurated its Jamshedpur office as part of preparations for its 2024 campaign, under the leadership of state president Babulal Marandi. The commission has not issued any public response to the fresh allegations so far.
