Mittal Backs Jantar Mantar Students, Demands Leak-Proof Exams

JAMSHEDPUR – The newly elected national president of the Akhil Bharatiya Agrawal Sammelan on Saturday laid out his organisation’s position on exam reform, temple trust accounts and crimes against women.
Basant Kumar Mittal addressed a press conference in the city. He said there would be no compromise on three subjects.
These were the future of the country’s youth and transparency in the Ram Mandir Trust. The third was the safety of daughters.
The press meet preceded the first national working committee sitting. That meeting is scheduled for July 26.
Moreover, Mittal said representatives from 32 states would attend it. The venue is Jamshedpur.
He described the present reach of the Agrawal Sammelan. It works in 36 states and union territories.
In addition, it operates through 55 divisions. Its network covers more than 750 districts.
Mittal extended support to students protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Their agitation concerns paper leaks in competitive examinations.
The protesters have also alleged malpractice in recruitment tests. He asked the Centre to open talks with them.
Besides, he sought a leak-proof examination system across the country. He said the process had to be made transparent.
He then turned to reported land disputes involving the Ram Mandir Trust. The trust manages the temple project at Ayodhya.
Any office-bearer facing charges of financial irregularity should be examined, he said. He demanded an impartial and high-level inquiry.
“The faith of crores rides on those accounts,” he said. He added that scrutiny would only strengthen public trust.
Mittal referred to the Vanshika murder case in Jaipur. He also cited a widely reported incident in Kolkata.
The Ketan Agrawal murder case in Pune figured in his remarks. So did the killing of a father and son in Muzaffarnagar.
Moreover, he sought daily hearings in fast-track courts for such cases. He demanded the harshest punishment for those convicted.
He said the Agrawal and Vaishya community lacked adequate political representation. The organisation would work to change that, he said.
He traced the body’s journey from 1975 onwards. Agroha Dham and Gaudham featured in that account.
The Maharaja Agrasen Medical College was also mentioned. Nationwide rath yatras and disaster relief work were listed.
Mittal then announced schemes under Mission 2031. A business-to-business network forms part of the plan.
In addition, a startup fund has been proposed. Interest-free education loans of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh are planned.
A hostel for UPSC aspirants will come up in Delhi. A digital library is also on the list.
Meanwhile, a global NRI cell has been announced. An artificial intelligence based matrimonial portal is proposed.
The organisation is to be fully digitised under the same mission.
National general secretary Gopal Goyal attended the press conference. National treasurer Natthu Ram Jain was also present.
Jharkhand state president Sandeep Murarka joined them. State general secretary Abhishek Agrawal attended as well.
State vice-president Kamal Kishore Agrawal was among those seated. Several other national and provincial office-bearers were present.
