BOKARO – Police arrested a man for allegedly threatening his divorced wife at gunpoint in Tetulia village.
The incident took place under Sialjori police station limits in district. The case created panic among local residents for several hours.
Meanwhile, police received information through Dial 112 around 11 P.M. on May 19. The caller reported that a man was threatening his former wife with a pistol.
Following the alert, Bokaro police formed a special SIT team immediately. Officers launched a rapid operation under senior police supervision.
Police arrested the accused shortly after reaching the location. A country-made pistol, live cartridges, and a motorcycle were seized.
The accused was identified as 40-year-old Manoj Rajwar from Katras in Dhanbad. Investigators confirmed he had divorced Lakshmi Devi nearly three years ago.
However, police said the accused continued pressuring the woman repeatedly. He allegedly wanted to take their daughter with him.
On the other hand, Lakshmi Devi had visited her sister’s house in Tetulia village. The accused reportedly reached there during the visit.
Meanwhile, Manoj Rajwar allegedly threatened the woman using the firearm. Residents informed police soon after the confrontation escalated.
Police registered a case under the Arms Act and other sections. Further investigation into the matter is continuing.
Officials stated that strict action would be taken against illegal weapon possession. Police are also verifying the source of the seized firearm.
