A CRPF jawan was airlifted for treatment following an IED blast in the Naxal-affected Tonto area of Chaibasa during an anti-Naxal campaign search operation.
CHAIBASA – An IED blast took place on Monday morning in Tumbahakat of Naxal-affected Tonto police station area of Chaibasa, injuring CRPF 197 battalion jawan Chandra Pratap Tiwari.
After first aid, the jawan was airlifted to Ranchi for better treatment.
According to the information received in connection with the incident, a search operation was being conducted in the area under the anti-Naxal campaign.
This incident happened during this time only.
Confirming the incident, SP of West Singhbhum district Ashutosh Shekhar said that a jawan was injured in the blast, who has been sent for treatment after first aid.
Police and security forces are cordoning off the area and conducting a search operation.
For the last few days, for the purpose of targeting police and security forces, Naxalites are laying deadly traps like IEDs, land mines, booby traps in the entire area.
Along with the security forces and the police, many villagers have also been injured and many have even lost their lives.
