Orange Alert Issued for Sunday, Warning of Rain and Thunderstorms Across the State

RANCHI – In a much-needed break from the scorching temperatures, Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, witnessed rainfall on Saturday afternoon, providing a welcome relief to the residents who had been grappling with the sweltering heat.
Jamshedpur, in particular, recorded a significant 10 mm of rainfall during this period, offering a temporary respite from the soaring temperatures.
Among the three districts that reported temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, Daltenganj recorded the highest maximum temperature at 40.6 degrees Celsius.
Palamu followed closely with a maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius, while Sarayekala experienced a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Jamshedpur, on the other hand, recorded a maximum temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.9 degrees Celsius.
West Singhbhum district reported a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s weather conditions, the meteorological department has issued an orange alert for Jharkhand, warning of rain and thunderstorms across the state.
Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra districts are expected to witness rain accompanied by thunderstorms, with wind speeds reaching 30-40 km per hour.
Similarly, Sahebganj, Godda, Pakur, and several other districts are also under alert for rain and thundershowers, with wind speeds anticipated to reach 40-50 km per hour.
In light of the weather advisory, residents are urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather information to ensure their safety and well-being.
