Relief from Heat Expected in Jharkhand with Upcoming Rain and Thunderstorms

Meteorological Department Predicts Weather Changes Starting June 17

People in Jharkhand can anticipate relief from the scorching heat as the Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms and rain in many parts of the state starting June 17.

RANCHI – The Meteorological Department has announced that Jharkhand is likely to experience thunderstorms and rain beginning June 17, with wind speeds expected to reach 40 to 50 km per hour.

However, a heat wave is still expected in the northwestern regions, including Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, and Lohardaga.

Additionally, areas such as East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan are also predicted to face heat wave conditions.

In contrast, light rain is anticipated around Ranchi, with temperatures likely to reach a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius.

The Ranchi Meteorological Center forecasts light rain in most parts of the state on June 18, though Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, and Chatra may see less rainfall on that day.

On June 19, thunderstorms accompanied by light rain are expected in most areas.

Despite these weather changes, the monsoon has not yet fully arrived in Jharkhand.

The Meteorological Department indicates that the monsoon is expected to begin in the state from June 17, but scientists believe it will be fully effective only after June 18-19.

Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
