RANCHI – Jharkhand has witnessed thunderstorms and scattered rains in various parts of the state, including Ranchi, Khunti, and Lohardaga, but the high temperatures persist, making people sweat despite the rainfall.

Palamu recorded temperatures as high as 39.9 degrees Celsius, while Baharagora, Seraikela, and West Singhbhum experienced temperatures in the high 30s, indicating the severity of the heat.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that many districts, such as Sahibganj, Godda, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Giridih, Dhanbad, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, and West Singhbhum, will experience rain and storms on Friday.

The forecast has raised hopes among the residents for some relief from the oppressive heat that has been prevailing in the state.

The scattered rains have provided temporary respite, but the overall weather conditions remain hot and humid, making it difficult for people to carry out their daily activities comfortably.

The Meteorological Department’s prediction of rain and storms in several districts has led to expectations of a possible break from the heatwave conditions.

However, until the weather system brings significant rainfall, the people of Jharkhand will continue to face the challenges posed by the high temperatures and humidity levels.

The state government and local authorities have been urging people to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the heat, such as staying hydrated, avoiding direct exposure to the sun during peak hours, and wearing light, loose-fitting clothes.
