Tata Motors’ Sales Surge in February 2024 Positions It Ahead of Hyundai but Behind Maruti Suzuki

In a significant shift in India’s automotive industry, Tata Motors surpasses Hyundai, becoming the country’s second-largest car producer in February 2024.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors has overtaken Hyundai to secure the second position in India’s car manufacturing sector as of February 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the automotive industry.

The company achieved a notable year-on-year sales increase of 20%, selling 51,267 units domestically.

Hyundai, now in third place, reported sales of 50,201 units in the same month, experiencing a 7% rise from the previous year.

Tata’s success was partly driven by the popular Nexon compact SUV and the Punch micro SUV, which collectively outperformed Hyundai by 1,066 units.

Tata’s strategy of regularly refreshing its product lineup has been a key factor in its growth, with several new models and updates introduced recently.

Upcoming Launches and Innovations

Tata is set to expand its electric vehicle offerings with the Curvv electric and Harrier EV slated for release in 2024.

The ICE version of the Curvv and new concepts like the Nexon iCNG and Altroz Racer were highlighted at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, promising future production models.

Hyundai’s Strategy and New Releases

Hyundai introduced the updated Creta in January, which achieved record sales in February, highlighting the brand’s focus on the competitive SUV segment.

The facelifted Alcazar and Creta N Line are upcoming launches aimed at bolstering Hyundai’s position in the market.
