Shreya Kumari Wins First National Gold for TSAF at ASMITA Women’s Rowing League in Gorakhpur

JAMSHEDPUR – Shreya Kumari of the TSAF Rowing Academy clinched the academy’s first-ever national-level gold medal at the ASMITA National Women’s Rowing League, held in Gorakhpur from May 12 to 16, 2026.
Shreya’s gold in the Single Scull event earned 8 points for her team. Her team, Steel Oars of TSAF Rowing Academy, finished as second runner-up overall in the league. The gold was a landmark moment for the young academy.
In the Coxless Pair event, the duo of Gauri Kumari Sahu and Komal Kumari bagged a Bronze Medal. Their effort contributed 6 crucial points to the team tally. Meanwhile, the Double Scull pair of Muskan Singh and Avya Shukla added 5 more points with a strong showing.
The Coxless Four combination also contributed. Aditi Yadav, Chitra Singh, Shivani Kumari, and Mimansha rowed together for 4 additional points. In addition, Sulekha, a TSAF rower who was representing the host Gorakhpur team, won a Bronze Medal for her side.
