CRM Bara, Tubes Division Added to His Charge

GAMHARIA – Tata Steel has widened the scope of employee and stakeholder engagement within its corporate services wing through a fresh organisational order. The change was announced on August 31 by D.B. Sundar Ramam, Vice President of Corporate Services.
Pramod Kumar has been given additional charge of the CRM Bara and Tubes division under the revised arrangement. He had earlier overseen employee and stakeholder relations for TSG, TGS, Tinplate, the Combi Mill and the Wire Division.
Under the order, the unit previously called Employee Services and Corporate Relations has been renamed Employee Services and Stakeholder Relations, Corporate Services. The new structure took effect from the day the order was issued.
Kumar has been named Head of Employee Services and Stakeholder Relations in his new role. He will continue to discharge his responsibilities from Jamshedpur and will report to the Chief of Corporate Services at TSJ.
Corporate circles regard Kumar’s administrative understanding and coordination skills as central to his expanded mandate. His ease in engaging both employees and external stakeholders is widely seen as a strength within the organisation. A source familiar with the matter said his practical and approachable working style had contributed to the decision to broaden his charge.
The addition of multiple divisions under one executive comes amid a broader restructuring of Tata Steel’s corporate services functions. The company’s Tata Steel UISL arm recently received international recognition for its water management practices, while the firm has also expanded partnerships such as the GAIL gas supply pact covering establishments across the city. Tata Steel had earlier partnered with the Tata Steel Foundation on skill development initiatives in Kolhan. The Press Club of Jamshedpur too has benefited from the company’s local engagement efforts in recent months. Meanwhile, Tata Sons had separately postponed its annual general meeting earlier this month for lack of quorum.
