BJP Stages Protest in Jamshedpur Over Recruitment Exam Row

Party Demands CBI Probe, Withdrawal of Cases against Youths

Key Points:

  • BJP protests at DC office over alleged recruitment exam fraud
  • Madhu Koda, Dinesh Goswami lead demonstration in Jamshedpur
  • Party submits memorandum to governor demanding CBI investigation

JAMSHEDPUR – BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar workers staged a protest outside the district deputy commissioner’s office on Monday. The demonstration targeted alleged irregularities, corruption and fraud in various recruitment examinations.

A large number of BJP workers took part in the protest. They raised slogans against the state government and demanded a fair investigation into the recruitment process.

Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda and former BJP state president Dinesh Goswami were prominently present at the event. Protesters demanded a CBI probe into cases that had emerged in the recruitment exams.

They also demanded the withdrawal of cases filed against agitating youths. Addressing the gathering, Koda said the state’s youth were paying the price for recruitment scams and irregularities.

He alleged that a lack of transparency in the recruitment process had left lakhs of candidates frustrated and angry. Moreover, he said strict action against the guilty was needed to secure justice for young people.

Koda called for a fair investigation into the entire matter. Other speakers also questioned the government over the recruitment examinations during the protest.

They said injustice against the state’s youth would not be tolerated. Besides that, BJP leaders warned that the agitation would be widened if their demands were not addressed quickly.

Following the protest, a BJP delegation submitted a memorandum addressed to the governor through the district administration. The memorandum demanded a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities and the withdrawal of cases against the youths.

The Jamshedpur protest follows a similar demonstration held by the party in other parts of the state over the same recruitment exam issue in recent weeks. Party leaders had earlier raised the matter through a statewide campaign against the government.

In addition, opposition leaders have flagged other political disputes involving the ruling alliance this year. BJP’s organisational activity has also picked up in areas such as Baharagora in recent months.

The protest also comes amid other administrative developments in the wider Jamshedpur district this year.
