JAMSHEDPUR – The three-day Rajasthan Mahotsav Sah Mela 2026 got off to a grand start at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur on Sunday, organised by the East Singhbhum District Marwari Conference, bringing the colours, culture and heritage of Rajasthan to the Steel City.
Saryu Roy inaugurated the festival by lighting a ceremonial lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said such events not only bring Rajasthan’s rich traditions to life but also strengthen harmony and brotherhood among different communities.
The three-day festival is centred around Rajasthani folk art, traditional cuisine, handicrafts and cultural performances. On the other hand, the opening evening witnessed a mesmerising performance by renowned Rajasthani folk singer Sanjay Mukundgarh, who captivated the audience with soulful renditions.
The entire venue was transformed into a riot of Rajasthani colours from the very first day. Moreover, stalls showcasing traditional crafts and local delicacies drew large crowds from across the city.
The organisers have appealed to Jamshedpur residents to visit the festival and experience the fragrance and glorious traditions of Rajasthan. The Marwari community has been a prominent presence in Jamshedpur for decades, making such cultural festivals deeply significant for the city.
In a similar spirit, cultural celebrations have been a recurring feature of Jamshedpur’s social calendar. The Rajasthan Mahotsav is set to continue for two more days with additional cultural programmes lined up for audiences.
