Tata Steel UISL celebrates World Earth Day with a tree plantation drive in Kadma, planting over 300 trees to promote environmental sustainability.
Jamshedpur – Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) marked World Earth Day with a major tree plantation drive in Kadma today.
In line with the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, over 300 trees of Karanj, Putranjiva, and Bakul species were planted.
The event is part of Tata Steel UISL’s broader sustainability initiatives, which focus on reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources, and protecting biodiversity.
Chief guest Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, led the tree plantation drive, alongside Mr. Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, and Pranay Sinha, Chief of Corporate Services at Tata Steel.
The senior leadership team of TSUISL, including Mr. Raghunath Pandey, President JSU, Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, Senior GM TSUISL, and others, also participated in planting the various tree species.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Chaudhary emphasized the importance of planting trees and protecting the environment.
He expressed hope that the local community in Jamshedpur would actively participate in similar endeavors.
Mr. Ritu Raj Sinha stressed the company’s commitment to sustainability, stating, “As a responsible Corporate Citizen, our Company has set high standards for itself on various sustainability parameters, including environment and water management. We are committed to sustainability at the core of our approach, ensuring a positive impact on the environment.”
The tree species planted during the event are known for their environmental benefits, with Karanj, Putranjiva, and Bakul trees all contributing to biodiversity and the health of ecosystems.
