Tata Steel UISL Celebrates International Day of Forests with Plantation Drive and Seminar

Chanakya Chaudhary, VP of Corporate Services, Joins Senior Leadership in Planting Saplings

Tata Steel Utilities Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) celebrated the International Day of Forests with a series of engaging activities, including a plantation drive at Biodiversity Park in Kadma and a thought-provoking seminar on the theme "Forest and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World."

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Utilities Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) marked the International Day of Forests with a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of forests and promoting sustainable environmental practices, including a dynamic plantation drive and a thought-provoking seminar.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Tata Steel UISL remains dedicated to championing initiatives that promote environmental conservation and sustainable development, with the aim of creating a greener, healthier planet for all.

The seminar witnessed active participation from more than 100 enthusiastic attendees, including students from various colleges, who engaged in enriching discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, graced the occasion as the chief guest, providing guidance and leadership throughout the event, ensuring its seamless execution and success.

The third speaker, Dr. Sita Ram Panda, highlighted the conservation work of the Indian Botanic Garden, which houses many threatened and endangered flora. It is one of the largest germplasm depositories in Southeast Asia.

Dr. Amar Singh, who is also a member of the State Wildlife Board, addressed the depleting wildlife due to rampant deforestation and negligence in taking care of wildlife.

R P Singh spoke about the need to conserve forests and how it can be achieved.

Distinguished speakers, including RP Singh, former Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Jharkhand, Dr. Sitaram Panda, Incharge, IBG, Kolkata, and Dr Amar Singh, Principal, Jamshedpur Cooperative College, shared valuable insights and perspectives on the pivotal role of forests in fostering innovation and sustainable development.

In continuation of the plantation drive, a thought-provoking seminar was conducted, focusing on this year’s theme: "Forest and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World."

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services, honored the event as the chief guest and planted numerous saplings alongside the Senior Leadership Team of Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL.

Participants eagerly joined hands to contribute to the green initiative, reaffirming their commitment to preserving and nurturing our natural ecosystems.

More than 3000 saplings from about 55 genera and species were planted.

To kick off the festivities, a dynamic plantation drive was organized at Biodiversity Park in Kadma.
