Job Fair for Differently-Abled Organized by Young Indians and Singhbhum Chamber

JAMSHEDPUR – A unique job fair for differently-abled individuals was organized by CII Young Indians, Jamshedpur Chapter, and Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event, held at Bistupur’s Chamber Bhavan, was supported by Cheshire Disability Trust and Atypical Advantage.

The job fair attracted around 250 registrants, including candidates with hearing, locomotor, and visual impairments.

The event was inaugurated by Tata Steel Foundation CEO Saurav Roy, who lauded the companies participating for their commitment to inclusivity.

Ten small-scale industries attended the fair, and by the end, 20 candidates were offered jobs, with 40 more shortlisted for future placements.

Roy highlighted the importance of providing a supportive environment and fostering sensitivity among employees towards differently-abled colleagues.

He stressed that such initiatives show the city’s progress in becoming more inclusive and compassionate.

Leaders from both the Singhbhum Chamber and Young Indians were present, making the event a significant step towards empowering the differently-abled community.
