Governor Awards Degrees and Honors at Jamshedpur Women’s University Inaugural Event
Jamshedpur Women’s University marked a significant achievement with its first-ever convocation ceremony, recognizing the hard work of its students and the institution’s journey to excellence.
JAMSHEDPUR – The inaugural convocation ceremony of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) took place at the Sidhgora campus, with Governor CP Radhakrishnan presiding over the event as the chief guest.
In a ceremony filled with pride and accomplishment, 1,014 girl students received their degrees, and 28 outstanding students were awarded gold medals for excellence in various subjects.

Governor Radhakrishnan, addressing the gathering, highlighted the day as a celebration of the students’ dedication and the university’s rise to a recognized center of excellence.
The Governor underscored the importance of quality education and empowerment for women, advocating for their participation in sports and cultural activities to foster personal and cultural growth.
The convocation’s unique dress code, featuring white salwar kurtas with red dupattas or white or cream-colored sarees with red borders, added a distinctive cultural touch to the event.

Emphasizing the university’s commitment to female empowerment through education, Governor Radhakrishnan spoke on the vital role of education in equipping women with necessary skills for success.
The inauguration of the Savitribai Phule Central Library and Swarnarekha Auditorium was a highlight, set to enrich the students’ academic and cultural experiences.
The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Dr. Anjila Gupta, university officials, staff, and distinguished guests, marking a historic day for JWU.
