DSM School student dominates U-19 Jharkhand Badminton Championship

JAMSHEDPUR – Young badminton prodigy Sarah Sharma has showcased exceptional skill at a recent state-level tournament.
Sarah, a student of DSM School, Kashidih, secured a remarkable triple title.
She triumphed in the Under-19 singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.
The Jharkhand Junior (U-19) Badminton Championship concluded on Thursday at Mohan Ahuja Stadium.
In the singles final, Sarah defeated Ranchi’s Ananya Singh to claim the championship.
Moreover, she partnered with Ananya in doubles to secure another title.
The duo bested Debadrita Bagchi and Vaibhaviman from Dhanbad in the doubles final.
Furthermore, Sarah’s winning streak continued in the mixed doubles category.
She teamed up with Niraj Keshri to defeat Yuvraj Kumar and Yogita Bora.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ singles final, Suraj Pratap Singh from East Singhbhum emerged victorious.
He defeated Ranchi’s Niraj Keshri to become the champion.
Additionally, the Under-19 boys’ doubles title went to Niraj Keshri and Sachine Gope.
They bested the pair of Amaan Rahman and Ayaan Rehman in the final match.
The championship also served as a selection trial for the Jharkhand team.
Selected players will compete in the Under-19 National Championship in Bhubaneswar in November.
Several dignitaries attended the prize distribution ceremony.
These included Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, and K. Prabhakar Rao, JBA Secretary.
"Sarah’s performance is truly inspiring for young athletes," remarked a tournament official.
However, the final team selection for the national championship is yet to be announced.
On the other hand, this event highlights the rising badminton talent in Jharkhand.
