Tata Steel celebrates Republic Day with a focus on expansion and social responsibility, led by Avneesh Gupta, VP, TQM and Engineering Project.
JAMSHEDPUR – Republic Day at Tata Steel was marked by a ceremonious flag hoisting at the main gate, steered by Avneesh Gupta, Vice President of TQM and Engineering Project.
The event was distinguished by a disciplined march past orchestrated by the security department.
During his address, Gupta emphasized Tata Steel’s long-standing commitment to integrated growth and its substantial contributions to India’s economic development.
He expressed confidence in India’s rapid economic growth, forecasting sustained progress through strategic investments until the financial year 2025.
Gupta acknowledged the steel sector’s remarkable 11 percent growth, highlighting the increasing domestic demand for steel.
However, he also pointed out the challenges posed by reduced international demand, stressing the need for vigilance among stakeholders at Tata Steel.
The company is currently focused on expanding its production capacity, aiming to escalate from the present 26 million tonnes to 40 million tonnes over the next decade.
Key ongoing projects include the expansion of the Kalinganagar plant, expected to enhance its annual production capacity by 5 million tonnes.
Moreover, a new 6 million tonne iron ore processing plant is being constructed in Noamundi.
Significantly, Tata Steel is in the process of establishing the world’s second-largest blast furnace at Kalinganagar, coupled with the installation of a slab caster and a new annealing line.
Gupta also underlined Tata Steel’s commitment to safety and corporate social responsibility.
