JAMSHEDPUR – A 31-year-old tempo driver died by suicide in Bistupur after a domestic dispute with his wife.

The incident occurred under Bistupur police station limits on Thursday. The location was near Beldih School gate number three.

However, the deceased was identified as Chhotu Nishad, aged 31. He lived in an outhouse near the area.

Meanwhile, police said a dispute happened the previous night. The argument involved driving under the influence of alcohol.

Moreover, Chhotu reportedly consumed alcohol regularly while driving. His wife Pinki Devi often objected to this habit.

On the other hand, the disagreement escalated into a verbal fight. The couple argued over his drinking behavior.

However, on Thursday morning, Pinki left for work as usual. She returned around 11 am to find the door locked.

Meanwhile, suspicion arose when the door remained closed from inside. She then looked through a window.

Moreover, she saw her husband hanging inside the room. She immediately alerted nearby residents.

In contrast, locals informed the police about the incident. Officers reached the spot shortly after.

However, police broke open the door to recover the body. The body was then sent for postmortem examination.

Meanwhile, officers began questioning family members about the case. They are investigating the circumstances.

Moreover, Pinki stated their marriage lasted around 15 years. The couple had no children.

On the other hand, frequent disputes occurred due to alcohol consumption. Police are examining all possible reasons.

Authorities in Jamshedpur continue investigating the case. No foul play has been confirmed so far.
