GARHWA – A tragic incident in Garhwa district claimed four lives due to suffocation inside a septic tank.

The incident took place in Navada village, close to the district headquarters. According to local reports, the victims entered the newly built septic tank one after another while removing its shuttering.

The deceased have been identified as Ajay Chaudhary, 50, Chandra Shekhar Chaudhary, 42, and Raju Shekhar Chaudhary, 55 — all sons of Moti Chaudhary — along with Maltu Ram, also from the same village.

The three brothers were constructing a new house and had recently built the tank. However, during the process of opening its shuttering, each person entered in succession, leading to fatal suffocation.
