Saryu Roy Stresses Upholding Virtues in Governance and Politics

MLA Saryu Roy emphasizes the importance of upholding honesty, simplicity, and hard work in governance, reflecting on the late Karpoori Thakur’s Bharat Ratna award.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent press statement, MLA Saryu Roy shared his thoughts on the posthumous Bharat Ratna award to the late Karpoori Thakur, aligning it with the values represented by Lord Shri Ram.

Roy asserted that the real significance of the award lies in reinforcing virtues like honesty, simplicity, and a tireless work ethic, mirroring Thakur’s public life.

He raised concerns over the rampant corruption in governance and administration, comparing it to a leprosy threatening to turn democracy into a mere facade.

Roy warned of the dangers of politics being used as a tool for personal gain and the adverse effects it has on youth and vulnerable sections of society.

Acknowledging Karpoori Thakur’s dedication to fighting corruption, Roy expressed disappointment at the ongoing malpractices in contemporary politics.

He called for those celebrating Shri Ram Lala’s life and Thakur’s Bharat Ratna to commit to restoring the values and dignity exemplified by these figures.

Roy urged a collective effort to transform the political culture, combat corruption, and reinforce the importance of rules, laws, and the constitution for national and state betterment.
