Bistupur Police Solve Theft Case in 35 Days; Accused Sentenced to 3 Years

Bistupur police achieve swift action in Tata Steel Company theft, culminating in a 3-year jail term for suspects within 35 days of FIR’s filing.

JAMSHEDPUR – At the district police headquarters, SSP Prabhat Kumar held a discussion with police officials, where he revealed that a list of repeat offenders had been created during this time.

The list contains the names of a total of 42 offenders who have three or more cases filed against them, including individuals who have served time in prison for crimes such as murder, violations of the Arms Act, theft, and robbery.

SSP Prabhat Kumar further highlighted that this was the first occurrence during his tenure where the police received a 35-day court sentence for a case.

He described an incident of theft that took place on Tata Steel Company’s property on July 5, with the suspects booked into jail on July 6 after filing an FIR.

Remarkably, the charge sheet in this case was submitted by the investigator, Gurudayal Singh, less than 24 hours after the FIR was filed.

On August 10, the court’s decision resulted in Mohammed Sabjan and Rakesh Kumar Sah each receiving a three-year jail term for their involvement in the theft.

In recognition of the swift action taken in this case, SSP Prabhat Kumar presented a monetary award and a citation on Friday to the case’s investigator, Gurudayal Singh Munda, and the in-charge of the Bistupur police station, Anjani Kumar.

The resolution of this theft case within 35 days of the FIR’s filing date by the Bistupur police is a significant achievement that sets a precedent for effective and timely law enforcement.
