Arms supply to Ukraine will not bring peace: China

China says, ‘The cruel reality is that supplying arms to Ukraine will not bring peace.’ China made the comments on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine on Thursday.

China’s Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations, Dai Bing, made these comments at the United Nations General Assembly.

China’s comments came days after the United States and NATO warned Beijing against providing military aid to Russia.

The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for an end to the war in Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

141 countries of the General Assembly voted in favor of the resolution. 32 countries abstained and seven other countries, including Russia, voted against the proposal. This comment came from Beijing just a few hours before the proposal was passed.

Dai Bing, China’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations, told the UN General Assembly, ‘Adding fuel to the fire will only increase tensions. Prolonging and expanding the conflict will only make ordinary people pay more.’
