Jharkhand Cabinet Meeting Greenlights Key Policies Including Guidelines for Old Pension Scheme
In a significant move for Jharkhand, the State Cabinet meeting held on July 25, 2023 saw the approval of several crucial policies and amendments that promise to drive development and enhance public welfare in the state, including the approval of guidelines for availing old pension scheme.
RANCHI – The gathering of key policymakers at the Ministry of Jharkhand resulted in the sanctioning of an array of decisions covering a broad range of areas.
Among them, the Jharkhand Export Policy-2023 was given the nod, which could provide a major boost to the state’s economic growth.
This was complemented by the approval of guidelines pertaining to the process of availing the old pension scheme after selection.
Approval for Nominee Director
In the energy sector, a decision was made to introduce a provision for a Nominee Director in the Board of Directors of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
This step is expected to facilitate more streamlined decision-making within the organization.
Upgrades in Education and Services
Other critical developments included amendments to the Jharkhand Cooperative Auditor Cadre Rules, 2014, and the Jharkhand Cooperative Extension Officer Cadre Rules, 2014.
The move will enable amendments in minimum educational qualifications.
The Council also approved the Jharkhand Child Development Service Non-Gazetted Staff Recruitment and Service Condition Amendment Rules-2023.
Enhancements in Employee Welfare
The Council made important strides in the area of employee welfare as well.
Maternity leave facilities were granted for employees working on a contractual basis.
This was complemented by the approval of guidelines pertaining to the process of availing the old pension scheme after selection.
The Council also decided on the regularization of service for certain personnel under the Finance Department, Government of Jharkhand.
Additional Provisions for Public Benefit
The session saw other significant decisions as well, such as the approval for state employees to receive the benefits of health insurance schemes and for children residing in Child Care Institutions to receive maintenance at new rates under the Centrally Sponsored Revised Mission Vatsalya Yojana.
Notably, the approval for the implementation of the centrally sponsored "Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana" in its modified form under Mission Shakti (Samarthya) marked another crucial step towards public welfare.
Approval for Several Key Projects
The Council also granted administrative approval for the Mahagama Urban Water Supply Project under the centrally sponsored scheme Atal Renovation and Urban Transformation Mission 2.0 (Amrit 2.0).
Medical aid grants were approved for beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Critical Illness Treatment Scheme through the Jharkhand State Health Society.
Further, additional authority was provided to the Anti-Terrorism Squad to control organized crime in the state of Jharkhand.
