DAV Public School Celebrates Van Mahotsav Week, Promotes Environment Conservation

In a bid to spread awareness about the importance of woodlands, DAV Public School, Jamshedpur observed the tree-planting festival, Van Mahotsav Week.

JAMSHEDPUR – D.A.V. Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur celebrated the Van Mahotsav Week, an annual tree-planting festival traditionally held in the first week of July.

The week-long event aims to educate students about the crucial role of woodlands and trees in our lives.

Festival’s Inception and Its Message

The event was inaugurated by Senior Coordinator Mr. Nawin Kumar. He enlightened the students about the history of Van Mahotsav, which was initiated by Shri K.M. Munshi, the then Union Minister of Agriculture and Food, in 1950.

Highlighting Environmental Issues Through Art

An eye-opening dance-drama performance titled “Pedon se vayu, Vayu se aayu” underscored the importance of saving our environment.

The performance aimed to motivate attendees to promote afforestation and curb deforestation, emphasizing the need to protect Mother Earth, which nurtures all life.

Preserving the Natural Cycle

The dance-drama further illustrated the significance of preserving the natural cycle and expressed that creating a concrete jungle is not the solution to our growing needs.

It insisted on the importance of curbing human greed for the harmonious co-existence of all living beings.

The aim is to preserve plant and animal life to ensure the survival of humanity.

The program also touched upon how pollution of land, water, and air could be minimized through such initiatives.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Ashraf Jahan, the Junior Coordinator, who appreciated the efforts of the staff and students.
