Van Mahotsav Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Srinath Public School

Students Engage in Tree Planting and Environmental Activities

Srinath Public School celebrated Van Mahotsav with great zeal, engaging students in various activities to promote environmental conservation.

JAMSHEDPUR – Van Mahotsav, an annual tree-planting festival initiated in 1950 by Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, the then-Union Minister for Food and Agriculture, was celebrated with enthusiasm at Srinath Public School.

The festival aims to encourage citizens to plant and care for trees, promoting a greener India.

The main objectives of Van Mahotsav are to promote tree plantation, raise awareness about environmental conservation, and encourage community involvement in tree planting and care.

During the celebration, students participated in several activities, including tree plantation drives, awareness campaigns, essay and painting competitions, and environmental rallies.

The event highlighted the importance of trees in our lives, emphasizing their role in providing oxygen, supporting wildlife, preventing soil erosion, and enhancing the environment’s beauty.

"We are thrilled to see our students so involved in activities that promote environmental conservation," said a school representative.

Van Mahotsav serves as a reminder of the crucial role trees play in sustaining our ecosystem and the importance of collective efforts in preserving nature.

The school’s celebration included planting trees on campus and educating students on the long-term benefits of a green environment.

By participating in Van Mahotsav, Srinath Public School aims to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature in its students.
