DC of Jamshedpur Issues Instructions to Curb Illegal Construction in Eco-Sensitive Zones

JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent meeting, DC Ananya Mittal instructed district officials to comply with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines regarding illegal construction in eco-sensitive zones.

The meeting reviewed various issues, including illegal constructions in the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary’s eco-sensitive zone and encroachments along the Swarnarekha River.

DC Mittal emphasized the importance of protecting these environmentally sensitive areas and directed officials to take stringent actions against violators.

An official attending the meet stated, "Ensuring compliance with NGT guidelines is crucial for preserving our natural habitats and preventing further environmental degradation."

The officials were tasked with conducting thorough inspections to identify and halt unauthorized constructions in the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary area.

Additionally, they were instructed to address encroachments along the Swarnarekha River, which pose significant threats to the river’s ecosystem.

Regular monitoring and enforcement measures were highlighted as essential steps to maintain the ecological balance and prevent further violations.

The DC’s directives aim to reinforce the district’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Official sources said that these measures are expected to safeguard the eco-sensitive zones and promote long-term environmental health.
