Tata Steel UISL celebrated Van Mahotsav by planting over 7000 trees of 25 species across Jamshedpur, affirming its commitment to environmental sustainability.
JAMSHEDPUR – To commemorate Van Mahotsav, Tata Steel Utilities & Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) organised a massive tree-planting effort to demonstrate its dedication to environmental sustainability.
Over 7000 trees of 25 different species were planted throughout Jamshedpur during the week-long celebration, which took place from July 1–7, 2023. These included the CRM Bara, Sidhgora City Forest, Kadma Biodiversity Park, City Forest Kadma, Sidhgora Children Park, Agrico Nature Trail, and Jubilee Park Road Avenue.
The larger goal of TSUISL is to reduce carbon emissions, protect biodiversity, and conserve natural resources.
During the occasion, numerous seedlings were planted by Ritu Raj Sinha, managing director of Tata Steel UISL, and Chanakya Choudhary, vice president of corporate services, Tata Steel.
Raghunath Pandey, the president of JSU, Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, the senior general manager of TSUISL, and other members of the senior leadership team who participated in the plantation campaign all attended the celebration.
It’s interesting to note that every year in July, India celebrates Van Mahotsav, a festival dedicated to tree planting.
The event, which was founded in 1950 by Dr. K.M. Munshi, the Union Agriculture Minister at the time, aims to increase the country’s green cover and educate people about the significance of trees and forests in our ecology.
