JAMSHEDPUR — The Rail Yatri Sangharsh Samiti will conduct a signature campaign at Ghatshila on Sunday, May 24, in protest against the persistent delays affecting passenger trains. The campaign is scheduled to begin at 4:30 in the evening, right in front of Ghatshila railway station.
This information was shared by Samiti convenor Shiv Shankar Singh in a statement issued here. He said the general public is being urged to join the campaign in large numbers.
Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy will be specially present at the event. Roy has been at the forefront of the agitation against train delays in the region for several months and has repeatedly raised the issue with railway authorities.
Singh further said that on Saturday, a team comprising Subodh Srivastava, Neeraj Singh, Amit Sharma, Rahul Pandey, and Swarik Raj Shukla visited Ghatshila to select the venue for the programme. The team also met local residents and urged them to participate in the event.
The Rail Yatri Sangharsh Samiti has been running a sustained campaign against train delays on routes passing through Tatanagar and adjoining areas. Earlier signature drives were held at Sakchi, and the committee has warned of an escalation of protests if the railways fail to address the issue satisfactorily.
