Clash Between Police and Villagers in West Singhbhum Leads to Injured Policeman and Multiple Detentions

A clash erupted in West Singhbhum between police attempting to halt an illegal game and villagers, resulting in one injured officer and several detentions, with game materials and money confiscated.

CHAIBASA – A policeman was injured when villagers clashed with police officers who were trying to stop an illegal game of Hubba-Dabba (a gambling game) at a fair in Karika village, located in the Bandgaon police station area of West Singhbhum.

The fair was organized in the village yesterday to commemorate Birsa Munda Martyrdom Day. When the Bandgaon police station received information about the illegal Hubba-Dabba game taking place at the fair that night, they moved in to conduct a raid.

The incident has been confirmed by Kapil Chaudhary, SDPO of Podahat Chakradharpur.

He disclosed that the police have detained five to six villagers in connection with the incident and confiscated Hubba-Dabba game materials and money.
