Adityapur police arrest one with 100 packets of brown sugar

Seraikela: In a major success in its drive against illegal sale of narcotic and contraband substances, Adityapur police of Seraikela-Kharsawan district arrested a youth with 100 packets of brown sugar.

The police produced him before the magistrate and the accused has now been sent to judicial custody.

This arrest is being viewed as a major success in the fight against narcotic business launched by the district police.

The arrested youth has been identified as Md. S by the police.

Within one fortnight, around half a dozen smugglers have been sent behind bars by the Seraikela Police in different police station areas as a part of its drive against brown sugar and narcotics paddlers.

Many of these accused hail from areas falling under the jurisdiction of Adityapur police station.

Adityapur police station officer-in-charge Rajendra Prasad Mahto said that on the instructions of senior officials, a drive is being run against the brown sugar and drug dealers operating in the area.

He appealed to the general public to share information about such smugglers and paddlers, so that action could be taken against them. He assured that anyone informing the police about a crime would be kept anonymous.
