Major success for Seraikela-Kharsawan police in drive against narcotics, 2 arrested
Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan police have achieved a big success in its drive against drugs peddling and drugs abuse.
An intensive drive against illegal substances and narcotic materials has been launched all over the state on the instructions of the State DGP.
Like in other districts, Seraikela-Kharsawan police too have launched a special drive against narcotics peddling. A large amount of narcotic substances have been seized from Adityapur, Chandil and Ichagarh police station areas during raids by the district police.
The SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan Md. Arshi said that in raids made in Chandil area, especially at Khokhrodih, 2434 bottles of illegal foreign liquor was seized. Similarly, marijuana cultivation was also destroyed in Ichagarh area.
On other other hand, a raid was made in Adityapur Muslim Bustee and a smuggler with 65 packets of brown sugar was arrested. On the other hand, one Lal Singh Munda has been arrested in Ichagarh area for cultivating marijuana.
Besides, around 2000 Mahua Jawa (fruit) was destroyed in Adityapur police station area and 45 litres of country made liquor (Mahua) was also seized.
The SP said that the special drive against drugs, narcotics and illegal substances would continue in the district, till the entire district is freed of such menace.
