Jamshedpur Police Crack Down on Brown Sugar Trafficking

Significant Drug Bust Nets 27 Packets of Brown Sugar, Two Arrested

Jamshedpur’s dedicated crackdown on drug addiction yields results with a significant brown sugar bust and the arrest of two individuals, spotlighting the continuous effort to curb narcotics flow in the city.

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have intercepted a significant quantity of narcotics, arresting two suspects found in possession of brown sugar.

According to City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, the drugs originated from Kharagpur in West Bengal.

Authorities say the substances were destined for widespread distribution across Jamshedpur after their arrival at Tatanagar station.

Following a tip-off, police conducted a strategic raid behind the Railway Traffic Colony’s Durga Puja pandal under Baghbeda police station.

During the operation, Gurmeet Singh and Nikesh Kumar were apprehended, found with 27 packets of brown sugar.

This arrest is part of a broader campaign by Jamshedpur Police to combat the inflow of illegal drugs, which they have been monitoring closely, especially the shipments coming from Bengal.
