JAMSHEDPUR – BJP candidate Purnima Sahu, daughter-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, has emerged as the frontrunner in Jamshedpur East Assembly polls. With 50,671 votes, Sahu has secured a commanding lead of 21,680 votes over Congress candidate Dr. Ajay Kumar, who stands at 28,991 votes after nine rounds of counting.
Independent candidate Shiv Shankar Singh is in third place with 6,756 votes, while several other contestants, including those from smaller parties, have struggled to gain traction. A total of 21 rounds of counting are scheduled, with nine rounds completed so far.
