Seven minors saved from trafficking at Hatia station; three suspects arrested in anti-trafficking operation

Joint operation at Hatia station by RPF and Anti-human trafficking unit leads to rescue of seven minors and arrest of three suspects.

RANCHI – In a significant crackdown on child and human trafficking, a joint operation led by the Anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU) of RPF Post Hatia, Nanhe Farishte, and the flying team of the Ranchi division has resulted in the rescue of seven minors at Hatia station on Sunday.

Additionally, three individuals implicated in the trafficking ring were apprehended during the operation.

The operation, part of a broader campaign against trafficking, took place early in the morning when the team spotted the group under suspicious circumstances on platform number one, awaiting the train number 18637 Express to Vijayawada.

Upon interrogation, it was disclosed that the suspects, along with the minors, had arrived at Hatia Railway Station by bus with the intention of boarding a train to Vijayawada.

One of the apprehended, Sunesh Kachhap, revealed during the police interrogation that they were employed by contractor Riyaz Ansari for tractor work in their village and were promised jobs at a company making electric boards in Vijayawada.

Kachhap further disclosed that Riyaz Ansari had provided them with Rs 5,000 and fake Aadhar cards for the journey, promising an additional Rs 5,000 upon their arrival in Vijayawada, highlighting the organized nature of this trafficking operation.

The swift action of the authorities not only prevented the minors from being trafficked but also shed light on the mechanisms employed by traffickers, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against human trafficking.
