ADITYAPUR – An 18-year-old woman died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the fifth floor of an apartment complex in Adityapur on Thursday, causing panic in the locality.

The deceased has been identified as Khushbu Kumari, a resident of the Satbohni area. The incident occurred at the Sai Krishna Heaven City apartment complex in Satbohni, which falls under the Adityapur police station area.

According to available information, Kumari arrived at the apartment complex on Thursday. She told the security guard posted at the entrance that she had come to meet an acquaintance in flat number 515, following which she was allowed inside. A short while later, word spread that she had fallen from the building.

The incident triggered chaos at the complex, with a large number of local residents gathering at the spot soon after. Adityapur police reached the scene upon being informed and took charge of the body before beginning their investigation. Family members of the deceased also arrived at the site after learning of the incident. Police have started the process of sending the body for a post-mortem examination.

As part of their preliminary investigation, police are looking into several key questions, including whom Kumari had gone to meet in flat 515 and what transpired there. Officers are also examining her relationship with the occupants of the flat and the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The case is currently being treated as a possible instance of suicide. However, police said the actual cause of the incident could only be established once the investigation was complete and all facts had come to light. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the apartment complex and questioning the occupants of the flat along with other related individuals.

The incident has become a subject of discussion across the locality, while police said they were examining every aspect of the case as part of a thorough investigation.

Adityapur has reported other cases in recent days requiring police intervention, including an incident in which a body was recovered from a rented house along with a country-made pistol found nearby. Separately, a case of alleged medical negligence was also reported this month at a private hospital in the area.
