Train Ticket Examiner Rescues Two Unaccompanied Children on Utkal Express

RPF launches investigation to reunite the minors with their families

A routine inspection on the Rishikesh-Puri Utkal Express took an unexpected turn when the Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) discovered two unaccompanied children on Thursday night, prompting a rescue operation and an investigation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

JAMSHEDPUR – During a routine check on the Rishikesh-Puri Utkal Express, the Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) came across two unaccompanied minors on Thursday night, who claimed to be without their parents.

The TTE, Santosh Kumar, made the decision to disembark the children at Chakradharpur railway station and hand them over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for further assistance.

According to the TTE, the children, now identified as aged between ten and twelve years, were found wandering with their bags at Rourkela station.

The children stated that they had intended to reach Allahabad to visit the banks of the Ganges but had accidentally boarded the wrong train.

However, authorities suspect that the children may have run away from home, and an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the truth and reunite them with their families.

The RPF officials have taken charge of the case and are diligently working to locate the children’s parents or guardians to ensure their safe return.

The incident highlights the importance of vigilance and quick action by railway staff in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable passengers, especially unaccompanied minors.

The swift response by the TTE and the RPF demonstrates the Indian Railways’ commitment to passenger safety and their readiness to handle such situations with care and urgency.
