Railways Warns Passengers Against Sitting on Train Gates

RPF Enforces Regulations to Prevent Gate Sitting, Imposes Penalties

The Railways reiterates the severe consequences of sitting on train gates, emphasizing the risks and penalties involved.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Railway authorities have said that they would take stern action against those who violate the safety rules during travel.

A Railway official said: “We want to remind everyone about the importance of not sitting on train gates. It’s crucial to understand the serious dangers and potential penalties associated with this behavior.”

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel are diligently enforcing this regulation by apprehending passengers who are found sitting on train gates.

They are imposing fines and, in certain instances, even sending offenders to jail for violating the Railway Act.

Even with these measures in place, there is still a lack of awareness among passengers, which unfortunately leads to incidents.

Two passengers were injured on June 1 while sitting on the gate of the Neelanchal Express.

Currently, they are undergoing treatment at a district hospital in West Bengal.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in gate sitting, which not only has legal consequences but also puts lives at risk.

The Railways kindly remind passengers to refrain from engaging in any unsafe behaviors and to prioritize their safety while traveling.
