Over 21,000 devotees join procession led by Governor Raghubar Das
Surya Mandir Samiti Sidhgora celebrated the third Monday of Shravan with a massive Jalabhishek Yatra.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Surya Mandir Samiti Sidhgora organized a grand Jalabhishek Yatra on the third Monday of Shravan, with former Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor Raghubar Das leading over 21,000 devotees in the procession.
Participants carried holy Ganga water from Sultanganj in Kalashes, walking from Baridih Bhojpur Colony Chhath Ghat to Surya Dham Shivalaya.
The procession was filled with devotional music, vibrant tableaus, band-baja, and flower showers.
Governor Raghubar Das walked barefoot for several kilometers before performing Jalabhishek at Surya Dham Shivalaya.
During the ritual, Das prayed for the well-being and prosperity of people in Jharkhand and Odisha, including Jamshedpur.
A group of 11 Pandits conducted a pledge of Jalabhishek with holy Ganga water at Baridih Hari Mandir ground prior to the main event.
Women in saffron clothes and men with saffron gamchhas and flags marked the colorful procession.
Chants of "Har Har Mahadev" and "Bol Bam" resonated through Baridih Hari Mandir ground from early morning.
The committee organized the Yatra with barricades and set up fans and cold drink counters to manage the large crowd.
Flower showers at three locations added to the festive atmosphere of the procession.
From 8:30 am to noon, devotees performed Jalabhishek of Bholenath through Argha, following Baba Baidyanath Dham traditions.
The administration deployed police forces and 200 Suryadham Sevaks to assist the devotees throughout the event.
Medical aid camps and ambulances were positioned along the route to ensure safety.
Over 24,000 devotees received prasad, including puri, potato-chickpea curry, and ghee halwa, distributed at 20 counters.
Governor Das expressed gratitude to Iron City residents and praised the goddess of women power, wishing everyone a blessed third Monday of Shravan.
