3-Year-Old Tanu Sabar Receives Life-Saving Heart Surgery

Dr. Sanjay Giri and team facilitate critical operation at Medanta Hospital, Patna

A three-year-old girl from Baikanthpur, Chakulia block, undergoes successful heart surgery after community intervention.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tanu Sabar, a three-year-old from Baikanthpur in Chakulia block, received life-saving heart surgery thanks to the efforts of Dr. Sanjay Giri and his team from Sampurna Manavta Kalyan Sangh.

The Sabar family, belonging to a primitive tribe and living in extreme poverty, had been struggling to find medical help for Tanu’s severe heart condition.

Dr. Giri visited Tanu’s home to assess her condition and review her medical reports four days prior to the surgery.

Recognizing the urgency, Dr. Giri recommended treatment at Medanta Hospital in Patna and arranged for the family’s travel and accommodation.

Dr. Giri coordinated with Dr. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Head of Department at Medanta Hospital, to facilitate Tanu’s treatment.

Following a thorough examination, doctors determined that Tanu required immediate surgery.

The heart operation was successfully performed on Friday, with Tanu returning home to Chakulia by Sunday.

The Sabar family expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Giri, describing him as a savior for his comprehensive support.

Dr. Giri’s team, including Ronit Mahato, Bipalendu Prasad, Miraj, and Piyush Mahato, played crucial roles in ensuring Tanu’s successful treatment.

The intervention highlights the impact of community support in addressing critical healthcare needs of underprivileged families.

Dr. Giri emphasized that the success of Tanu’s treatment was a collective effort of his entire team.
