Jamshedpur Celebrates Founder’s Day with a Nod to Technology and Community Welfare
Tata Steel in Jamshedpur honors the 185th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Tata, celebrating his vision with a focus on technology for people and the planet.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a grand tribute to Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, Tata Steel and the city of Jamshedpur commemorated the 185th birth anniversary of the ‘Father of Indian Industry’.
Jamsetji Tata’s entrepreneurial spirit initiated with a textile mill in the 1870s.
He laid the groundwork for India’s steel, power, and technical education sectors, propelling the nation into industrialization.
Audio-visual displays and floats highlighted the contributions of various Tata Steel departments.
The event saw homage paid at the Founder’s Statue, symbolizing respect and remembrance.
Participants from the Tata Workers Union, TISCO Mazdoor Union, and the Senior Citizens Committee showcased unity.
N Chandrasekaran engaged with attendees, fostering a community spirit through warm greetings and handshakes.
A flower offering ceremony represented the collective admiration for Tata’s vision.
The event featured a March Past parade, with security and other departments joining in a collective tribute.
Colourful tableaus before each department’s procession illustrated Tata Steel’s diverse operations.
Senior executives, including Daisy Irani and former Deputy MD Dr. T Mukherjee, attended to pay their respects.
The celebration began with a homage at the Jamshedpur Works Main Gate, attended by Tata Sons and Tata Steel leadership.
This year’s theme, "Technology for people & planet," reflects a commitment to community welfare and environmental stewardship.
