New Year Rain Forecast for Jharkhand

Light Rain to Mark New Year 2024 in Northwest Jharkhand Areas

Jharkhand’s New Year forecast includes light rain and a drop in temperature, amidst changing wind patterns and dry recent weather.

JAMSHEDPUR – As residents of Jharkhand gear up for the New Year celebrations, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) brings a mix of weather updates that add a unique twist to the festive mood.

In a recent update, the IMD has highlighted the persistence of dry conditions over Jharkhand in the past 24 hours.

Jamshedpur, the state’s bustling city, reported a high of 27.2°C, leading the state in maximum temperatures.

Meanwhile, Garhwa, another region in Jharkhand, recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature at a chilly 9.4°C.

Reflecting on the weather trends, an IMD official noted, "The influence of easterly winds has led to an increase in minimum temperatures recently. However, as the New Year approaches, a shift to northwesterly winds is expected, which will likely cause a noticeable drop in temperature."

This change in wind direction, from easterly to northwesterly, is anticipated to bring cooler weather across Jharkhand, making the first week of January 2024 notably colder.

The IMD’s forecast for the upcoming New Year includes light rain in isolated areas of northwestern Jharkhand, specifically on January 1, 2024. The rain alert encompasses regions such as Daltonganj, Latehar, Koderma, and parts of the Palamu region.

Extending the weather forecast, the IMD has also issued rain alerts for January 2 and 3, covering different isolated areas across Jharkhand.

Despite the lack of a significant synoptic situation over the state, the forecast is based on detailed analyses of satellite imagery and wind charts.

An IMD official highlighted the basis of the prediction, saying, "The forecast, despite the absence of a significant synoptic situation, is derived from careful examination of satellite images and wind patterns."

This forecast brings an element of anticipation for Jharkhand’s residents, as they prepare to welcome 2024 with potential rain showers, marking a distinctive start to the New Year.
