Heat Wave Continues in Jharkhand Amid Forecast of Scattered Rain

Ranchi Experiences Light Rain as Severe Heat Persists Across the State

Some districts in Jharkhand brace for rain and thunderstorms while others face scorching heat, as the Meteorological Department issues alerts.

RANCHI – Amidst the ongoing heat wave in Jharkhand, the Meteorological Department has forecast chances of rain in several districts, bringing potential relief to some areas.

On Monday afternoon, parts of Ranchi experienced light rainfall, providing brief respite from the intense heat.

However, many regions continued to endure the blazing sun and extreme temperatures.

The weather is expected to shift again, with rain and thunderstorms predicted in districts including Ranchi within a few hours.

The forecast also includes a possibility of lightning.

Heat wave conditions are expected to persist in certain areas such as Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Deoghar, Godda, Jamtara, and Dumka on June 11, prompting an orange alert.

For June 12, similar conditions are predicted for Latehar, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Simdega, West Singhbhum, Gumla, Khunti, East Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan, with a yellow alert issued.

The heat wave is anticipated to continue affecting the state until June 14.

In the meantime, some districts might experience rain, bringing much-needed relief.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that Ranchi could see rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds (30-40 kmph) within the next three hours.

There is also a possibility of lightning during this period.

Rain and thunderstorms are likely in parts of Ranchi, Khunti, Latehar, and Dumka districts, along with the possibility of strong winds.

A yellow alert has been issued for these areas.

Meteorologists have advised caution when venturing outdoors due to the adverse weather conditions.

They have recommended avoiding shelter under trees during rain and advised farmers to wait for clear weather.

Farmers are urged to seek safe shelter outside fields if bad weather persists.
