Garhwa Hits a Record High of 45.3°C Amidst Extreme Heat
Residents of Jharkhand endure relentless heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring across various districts.
RANCHI – The entire Jharkhand region, including Kolhan, is battling severe heatwave conditions, causing significant distress among its residents.
On Monday, several districts, including Garhwa, Palamu, East Singhbhum, Ranchi, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and Deoghar, experienced extreme heat.
Garhwa emerged as the hottest district, recording a temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius.
In Jamshedpur, the mercury soared to 43.6 degrees Celsius, while Saraikela reached 44.4 degrees Celsius, and West Singhbhum recorded 41.9 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted that there will be no relief from the intense heat and heatwave conditions until June 14.
Afternoon thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated drizzles are expected to provide temporary relief in some areas.
Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is anticipated on Tuesday in southern districts, including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan.
Despite these predictions, severe heatwave conditions continued to affect districts like Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Deoghar, Godda, Jamtara, and Dumka.
A yellow alert for heatwave has been issued for several other districts, including Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Latehar, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan.
