Tata Steel Unveils Eco-Friendly Tata Dureco GGBS

Rajiv Mangal Launches Sustainable Tata Dureco for Construction

Tata Steel introduces Tata Dureco, a sustainable Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) product, enhancing construction durability and reducing carbon footprint.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s commitment to sustainability took a significant leap with the introduction of Tata Dureco, a branded Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS).

This eco-friendly product, launched by Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, is set to revolutionize the construction industry.

Tata Dureco, a GreenPro certified material, promises enhanced durability and reduced environmental impact for a range of infrastructural projects.

Utilized in high-rise buildings, dams, bridges, and national highways, this product’s application is evident in significant projects like the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir and the New Ganga Bridge in Patna.

Mangal, during the brand launch in Kolkata, emphasized Tata Steel’s dedication to expanding its sustainable product offerings.

He highlighted Tata Dureco’s role as a partial cement replacement in concrete, following the success of branded slag products Tata Aggreto and Tata Nirman.

The event in Kolkata, organized by the Industrial By-Products Management Division, witnessed the presence of industry experts and Tata Steel’s senior leadership.

Ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS), the core component of Tata Dureco, is known for its compressive strength and durability in sustainable concrete manufacturing.

Tata Dureco aligns with Tata Steel’s sustainable value creation efforts, catering to the demand from Ready-Mix-Concrete and Infrastructure Projects globally.

IBMD, responsible for managing by-products in Tata Steel’s steelmaking value chain, has played a vital role in achieving 100% Solid Waste Utilization, marking a milestone in Tata Steel’s sustainability journey.
