JAMSHEDPUR — The triennial convention of the All India BSNL Pensioners Welfare Association, Jharkhand Circle and Jamshedpur District Branch, was held in a dignified setting at Rajasthan Bhawan in Bistupur on Sunday, drawing a large gathering of pensioners and office-bearers from various districts of Jharkhand.

The convention saw participation from across the Jharkhand Circle of the association. Pensioners and elected representatives of the organisation travelled from multiple districts to attend. The gathering took place in a solemn and organised atmosphere.

Discussions at the convention covered the organisation’s activities in detail. Moreover, the problems faced by BSNL pensioners and their possible solutions were deliberated upon at length. Speakers at the event stressed the need for members to work in a united manner to safeguard the interests of pensioners.

In addition, several important resolutions were passed during the proceedings. These resolutions focused on future strategy and on strengthening the organisation further. Members also took a collective resolve to make the association more active and more effective going forward.

On the other hand, the convention also served as a platform for renewing commitments. All members present reiterated their pledge to continue striving consistently to protect the rights and entitlements of Bistupur-based and other BSNL pensioners across the circle. The mood at the gathering was one of solidarity and resolve.

BSNL, the state-owned telecom company, has a large retired workforce across Jharkhand. Many of its pensioners have long raised concerns about delays in pension revision, medical benefits, and other post-retirement entitlements. Associations such as this one have been at the forefront of representing these concerns before the management and the government.

At the conclusion of the event, the organisers expressed gratitude to all members who attended and contributed to the smooth conduct of the convention. The successful holding of the triennial session was seen as a reaffirmation of the association’s organisational strength in the Jamshedpur district and the wider Jharkhand Circle.
