Tata Steel UISL To Manage Jamshedpur’s Citywide Cleaning Operations
Night Sweeping And Waste Management Initiatives Planned For JNAC Areas
Officials discuss strategies to improve sanitation and implement Swachh Survey 2024 goals.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel UISL is set to take over cleaning responsibilities across all Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) areas, introducing night sweeping in markets and public spaces.
"We’re ready to streamline the cleaning system and ensure door-to-door service for all households," stated Ravindra Kumar Singh, GM O&M at Tata Steel UISL.
JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar chaired a meeting to discuss solid waste management and Swachh Survey 2024 preparations.
Plans include implementing self-operated biogas systems in large institutions and promoting the Triple R theme (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
"We’ll issue notices to non-compliant entities and enforce penalties under the Jharkhand Municipality Act 2011," Kumar emphasized.
The initiative aims to reduce urban garbage points and phase out large dustbins from city streets.
Tata Steel UISL will collaborate with stakeholders to launch public health initiatives as per JITC notifications.
Officials discussed connecting flat complexes to door-to-door service and curbing single-use plastic usage.
The meeting was attended by key figures from Tata Steel UISL and JNAC, including Deputy General Manager Colonel Paul Ernest.
This collaboration marks a significant step in improving Jamshedpur’s sanitation and cleanliness standards.
