Kerala Public School Hosts TEEP Training for Teachers in Psychosocial Counseling

Tata Education Excellence Program (TEEP) at Kerala Public School, Kadma, enhances teachers’ skills in psychosocial counseling, focusing on child and adolescent mental health.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tata Education Excellence Program (TEEP) concluded with a felicitation ceremony, recognizing the efforts of the expert trainers.

S C Mishra, Head of CQA, TQM at Tata Steel, and Vidya Battiwalla, a TEEP Team Executive, led the closing ceremony, expressing gratitude towards the trainers’ contributions.

Clinical psychology and child and adolescent psychiatry specialists, Dr. Anamika Sahu, Dr. Krishna Prasad, and Dr. Aarti Jagannathan, significantly contributed to the program’s success.

Dr. Jagannathan’s accolades include the National Women’s Excellence Award 2012, Nav Kiran, reflecting her expertise in psychiatric social work.

The program’s curriculum extensively covered topics like mental health first aid, neurodevelopmental and specific learning disorders, and the negative impacts of technology.

Role-playing, debates, and interactive Q&A sessions enriched the learning experience for participants.

The program’s final day focused on leadership in mental health, advocating for proactive strategies in education.

32 science teachers from 29 schools, including 24 English and 5 Hindi medium institutions, received training in critical counseling skills.

The event was inaugurated by Tata Steel TEEP and TQM executives, who emphasized the importance of the training.

This three-day event, held from November 27 to 29, was a significant step in enhancing the skills of educators in psychosocial counseling.
